as the fields ruffle
EIC field notes, submission lists
and the fields ruffle, slow blinking, lidded in harebells. all that hazy succulence, cows oozing from pine trees, brambles ombre-ing the thicket in seductive colour. if there ever was a language here it is the rolling sighs of purple loosestrife where a marsh should be, swaying the absence of water. what was lost given life. these last weeks have been waves, the receding waters have brought me close to myself in quietness, soaking in plums, books, new poems sunshine and humidity. after the submissions crescendo it was welcomed, a pause as we prepared our replies, the incredible team at the winged moon having been so excellent this issue, i feel so thankful for their time, precision and talent. thank you to them.
today our responses were sent out and we are approaching the moment when BIOPHILIA will be published. as a magazine we have been working on this for all of this year and we are gathering the fruits in our bushels as the release will fall as we move into harvest time. i still have to program our website and our socials so that will last the month. more details soon…
and a little poetry juice squeezed a while ago, but still fresh
inflectionism.com featuring Adam Day's poetry. is marvellous. i especially loved the piece ‘Aubade’. perfect for a lazy summers day, or any day for that matter.
an announcement for our paid subscribers we will be returning to our monthly write alongs after a month away at the end of this month, on Friday August 29 at 1pm CEST. it would be incredible to welcome some of our competition winners along and our community for this opportunity to write in companionship.
